“Sit down to …” | TALKERS Magazine: TALKERS Magazine – “The Bible of Talk Media”.

BLOCK ISLAND, RI – It’s radio audition week. With so many regulars on vacation, the replacement hosts are listening. And listeners hear fresh air, a new voice, with a fresh take on today’s topic. And – unlike the status quo – listeners can get along better, if the regular host is prone to monologue that wastes the wonderful dialogue potential of this format.
A catch: What to talk about during what is an always slow news week? Yes, this virus has taught us that anything can happen, anytime. But the week between Christmas and New Years has a tendency to fall asleep. So, four suggestions:
“Your New Year’s resolutions, for …”
“⦠Joe Biden?”
“… Donald Trump?” “
“⦠Senator ___?” “
” … the mayor ___ ? “
“⦠Elon Musk?”
“⦠Fox News?”
” ⦠your partner ? Don’t hesitate to disguise your voice. ??
“… your next door neighbor?” “
“… (local lights)? “
âYOUR Person of the Year 2021? “
Yes Time the magazine had asked me, I would have suggested Eugene Goodman, the United States Capitol Police Officer, who led the Jan. 6 insurgents away from the Senate Chamber as the United States Vice President fled the crowd chanting “Hang Mike Pence”.
Time didn’t ask and chose Elon Musk instead. Suggestions from callers?
