Dictionary.com trolls Mike Richards with the definition of “jeopardy” after his resignation

Dictionary.com shared a definition for the word “jeopardy” after Mike Richards announced he was stepping down as the popular game show’s new host.

In a tweet posted Friday, the online dictionary service wrote that the name means “peril or danger.”

“Here it is in one sentence: ‘My job is in danger because of my past comments’,” the post read.

The tweet was posted shortly after Richards announced that the show will revert to guest hosts for now. Richards, the executive producer of Danger!, became the new full-time host last week.

But earlier this week, The Ringer exposed the offensive comments Richards made while hosting the podcast. The show at random.

The ring reported that “women’s bodies and clothing were a particular obsession for Richards.” In one broadcast, he said that women “dress like a prostitute” on Halloween. Another time, he called a guest a “booth bitch” and a “booth bitch”.

In a statement to The ringRichards apologized for the comments made on the podcast. He said it was clear that his attempts to be “funny and provocative were not acceptable”. He has since withdrawn the episodes.

“It pains me that these past incidents and comments have cast such a shadow over Danger! as we look to start a new chapter, ”Richards wrote to staff in a note Friday morning.

“As I mentioned last week, I was deeply honored to have been invited to host the syndicated show and was delighted with the opportunity to expand my role,” Richards continued. “However, over the past few days it has become clear that moving forward as host would be too much of a distraction for our fans and not the right decision for the show. As such, I will be stepping down. as a host from now on. As a result, we will be canceling production today. “

Danger! announced on August 11 that they have chosen two hosts to permanently replace the late Alex Trebek. Richards would take over as the host of the nightly syndicated show and Mayim Bialik would host the prime-time specials and ABC tournaments.

Richards said in his statement Friday that Sony Pictures Television will not resume the search for a permanent union host. As research continues, guest hosts will be brought back to resume production for the new season.

“I want to apologize to all of you for the unwanted negative attention that has come to Danger! over the past few weeks and for the confusion and delays it is causing now. I know I have a lot of work to do to regain your trust, ”the memo read.

Levar Burton fans are already asking the actor to replace Richards as host.
