People: a resident of Longview releases her first novel | Lifestyles
Longview resident Dawn ship recently published his first novel, “Kingdom Lost”. The novel is the first book in the Lost Stone of Argonia series.
“Kingdom Lost,” published by Elk Lake Publishing in Plymouth, Massachusetts, is a fantasy novel written for young adult / teen readers.
“I have loved fantasy ever since I read ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’,” Shipman wrote in an email. “I decided I would like to try my hand at writing one. I am so glad that Elk Lake chose to partner with me to bring “Kingdom Lost” to the world, “she wrote.
She knew she wanted to be a writer ever since she took a creative writing class in grade 10. Since then, she has written stories, poetry, plays, puzzles, quizzes and a host of magazine articles, including interviews, tutorials, and personal experience accounts, according to her site. Shipman grew up in the Vancouver area where she has lived most of her life. She spent a few years in the Bay Area of California. Now she lives in Longview.
She will be holding a book signing at Vault Books & Brew in Castle Rock in January.
